Attribution & credits
Every field we return is built on open and openly-licensed data — and every result names its sources. Transparency isn't a feature here; it's the whole point.
City-level IP geolocation and coordinates, from the DB-IP Lite databases. Attributed on every lookup result.
ASN-to-network mapping and organisation names for every routed prefix. Released into the public domain.
Authoritative country allocation from the five Regional Internet Registries.
Real-time geolocation and connection-metadata enrichment for the live demo lookups.
Built with gratitude to the open-data community. If we've used your work, you'll find it credited here — and on the result.
How we use it
We display this data with the attribution each license requires, and we never bulk-export or resell any source database. The redistributable core — RIR delegated stats and iptoasn, both public domain — is what powers our public API. DB-IP is used under CC BY 4.0 and is credited on every lookup it informs.
Fingerprint research
The browser-exposure probes are built from well-documented web-platform behaviours and our own detector research. They run locally to demonstrate what any site can read — we credit the open fingerprinting-research community whose work makes this education possible.
