Terms of service
Use YourTrace freely and lawfully. These terms exist mainly to stop the small number of abuses that would force us to lock things down for everyone.
Acceptable use
You may look up IP addresses and use the API for any lawful purpose. You may not:
- ›Attempt to identify a specific person, household, or street address — the data is network-level and approximate by nature.
- ›Use results to harass, stalk, dox, or discriminate against anyone.
- ›Bulk-scrape the site, or resell / redistribute the underlying geolocation databases.
- ›Circumvent rate limits or abuse the free tier.
We report — we never block
YourTrace only reports what an IP looks like. It does not, and will not, geo-block, deny service by country, or gate access based on where you appear to be.
Accuracy & warranty
IP geolocation is approximate (see our accuracy statement). The service is provided “as is” without warranties, and you should not rely on it alone for high-stakes decisions.

Some outbound links (e.g. VPN and data-removal services) are affiliate-supported — we may earn a commission at no cost to you. This never affects what we report or recommend, and we do not sell your data.
